The Imani Winds (“wide-ranging and ambitious…first-rate,” New York Times) team up with the Catalyst Quartet (“energetic and finely burnished,” New York Times) for a program that honors the rich and diverse experiences of migration. Five works explore different pathways, from Cuba, Haiti, Africa, and Puerto Rico – and finally the African-American Migration of the early 20th century, as addressed in Jessie Montgomery’s new work for winds and strings, Sergeant McCauley.
