December 17, 2018

7:30PM

Dorian Wind Quintet:
Gretchen Pusch, flute
Gerard Reuter, oboe
Benjamin Fingland, clarinet
Adrian Morejon, bassoon
Karl Kramer-Johansen, horn

Abigail Fischer, mezzo-soprano
Aaron Wunsch, piano

“One of chamber music’s most sparkling and eloquent ensembles” (TIME Magazine), the Dorian Wind Quintet joins forces with “luminous” mezzo-soprano Abigail Fischer (New York Times) for Lee Hoiby’s zesty, hilarious operatic portrait of Julia Child baking a chocolate cake, Bon Appétit! The Dorians also bring their “extraordinary accuracy and spirit” (New York Times) to classic American music, including Samuel Barber’s beloved Summer Music. "Ms. Fischer sings with a passionate restraint that has no equal in her generation." (New York Times)
