Cellist Julia Bruskin is a member of the acclaimed Claremont Trio and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; she joins her partner in life and music, Music Mondays Artistic Director Aaron Wunsch, for Mendelssohn’s youthful, sunny Variations concertantes; Pulitzer prizewinner George Walker’s riveting Cello Sonata, which bridges European traditions and the black American experience; and Beethoven’s sunny Cello Sonata in A Major, composed “amid sorrows and tears” — a kind of musical therapy.
